I was an annoying little 7 year old who thought I could do anything.
Back then it was cool to wear your helmet all day, even if you weren’t riding ![]()
Riding a bigger horse then everyone else meant you were the ‘best’ rider (even though he’s only 15.1hh, man I must have been tiny! Look at the way I climb into the saddle!).
Cantering was a massive deal…
And I used to brag to my friends about how I can jump really high (lol…. yeah ground poles were massive back then…).
God bless that horse.
I really wasn’t the best rider(been riding for a year)…. he put up with anything and taught me everything.
The song says it all.
I just wish I could be there for him these days :’(
It really breaks my heart when I see how happy he is in these videos.
I’ve tried everything to buy him back!
My poor boy
Look in the video response to see what happened to him.
And for those of you who have already seen the original Red video, I’ll be making a new one about his progress in a couple of weeks.

At Cadence Equestrian Center we host horse day camps throughout the year as well as week-long summer horse camps.
These camps are geared for both beginner and intermediate riders.
Many of our youth riders who now own their own horses and ponies started out at Camp Cadence! Our camps are an excellent introduction into the world of horses & ponies and are also wonderful supplements to riding instruction.
Beginner students learn basic horsemanship, safety and grooming and farm chores. Our camps also include fun horsey arts & crafts, fishing and of course lots of riding – including daily horse-back-riding instruction & games on horse-back. Our intermediate students learn more advanced skills in horsemanship & many of the important lessons, skills and responsibilities, that are required to own a horse or pony.
Your child will love the camaraderie of spending time at the ranch learning all sorts of fun & exciting things about horses!

JUMPING FOOTAGE AT THE END!
This is Shannon… aka “Fingers crossed”
Shannon belongs to a friend of mine who currently has a bad back so cant ride… so she has asked me if i would like to ride and compete Shannon till she is recovered.
And of course i said yes!
Shannon is 16.2hh (so bigger than anything i normally ride!) she is 13yrs old i think?? and LOVES to jump!
I havent done much editing of the footage and have left everything in this video so that her owner can see it all…. so i know its quite long!
There is some jumping footage at the end of the video… from about 4 1/2 mins in….
I dont think i did too badly considering she hadnt been riden for 2 weeks and ive never sat on her before!
For all the critics out there… i can see for myself im doing wrong:
I know she isnt bending the correct way… its something i was aware of at the time but couldnt get my legs and hands to do the right thing to sort it out to begin with… it will improve with time!
Jumping wise she is known for her speedy appraoches… its the way she does it… and something i need to learn to ride through… again my postition etc will all improve with practice!
Pleasso we e comment away but remember we wre new to each other!
Sorry for the poor quality and random music… im on my mums computer so didnt have much choice!
oo & Cassie is moving to her new home on Saturday where she will clearly be loved and hopefully enjoy life so you wont be seeing anymore from Cassie… im going to have one last hug tomorrow.
: (
Flash and me are off to a fun ride tonight… goodness knows i need the destress after finishing uni and weather pemitting we back out showjumping on Sunday. xx

Here is footage from an hour long lesson with Pony Pros.
This is an exercise Linda Parelli calls “the snake” and John Lyons uses in his dvd “Controlling Your Horse’s Speed.” The rider is 11 years old and has ridden about 35 times. The pony is a 15 year old Welsh/TB cross. It is their first day in the big outdoor arena with spooky jumps
The rider does a great job figuring out how to keep her balance while making sharp turns. This helps a rider find their balance fast and is a fun exercise for long, quick horses.
