Natural Horsemanship

I confess that I’m a tad nervous around any animal big enough to crush me just by not paying attention. Nonetheless, I found it pretty cool that my friends, Kevin and Ginny have learned how to respectfully enjoy their horses on their horses’ own terms. I don’t know if it is exactly horse whispering, but watching the way they treat their horse, Tenor, is impressive. It’s almost as if they don’t train the horse, but they merely learn each others’ languages.

Let me also thank them for their great hospitality in Florida, the way they treated my son, Sam and ask God’s blessings on their family.

Trail Ride 3/21/09

My friends and I went to my riding instructors house for the day to go trail riding. We had a lot of fun! I didn’t bring my camera on the trail ride, because I didn’t want to keep up with it. Dubie was SUCH a good boy! This was his first time to ever be on a trail ride with me. Diego on the other hand, wasn’t the best. He was probably the worst out of all four of the horses! When we would gallop, I’d go like five strides, and then Diego would have to stop and crow hop. When Diego gets excited, he’s a wanna be Arabian stallion, as you can see when he meets Sky and Casper for the first time. I am in the blue shirt, Mackenzie is in the dark blue hoodie, and Courtney is in the yellow rain coat. This was also Dubie’s first time to ever meet Candie, and second time to meet Diego.
