What are some Natural Horsemanship techniques?

I know about Pat Parrelli and I’m reading one of his books but who are some of the others and which ones do you think are the best? Thanks!
I;ve heard Cliton Anderson is just looking for money and makes the horse do what he wants with cruel devices and force. Just what I heard, this person went to one of his clinics. Have any of you heard this?

John Lyons is good, especially Lyons on Horses and Communicating With Cues. Also, Monty Roberts.

There are TONS. Honestly though, parelli is not the best. My riding instructor is kind of into his stuff mixed with some others like clinton anderson. It doesn’t accomplish much, but its really fun. Its supposed to teach respect or something, but yet the horse I ride still has NO idea of personal space or respect. If you get RFDTV, it has a lot of natural horsemanship people and there are some really cool ones.

Try Clinton Anderson. He is very good at what he does I watch his tv, show everyday!

Well, another popular one is Clinton Anderson, but after comparing the two, I stick with Pat Parelli all the way. I think Pat is the best option because his program help you to understand more and I have seen it used first hand on TONS of horses, and it really works well.
Plus, not only does it work to help you accomplish several things but it is also really fun!

Edit: I have heard and seen Clinton Anderson, and it seems like he is just in it for the money, not for the horse

Natural horsemanship techniques? If you know a horses general behavior and have some common sense, than you don’t need that crap. It’s a big waste of money. If you have a problem with your horse that you’re not good enough to fix, than you should find a trainer to help you.

natural horsemanship is a oxymoron. there is absolutely nothing natural about a horse ( herd animal and prey species) letting a human ( meat eater and predator) on it’s back. no matter what any idiot who can get a book published wants you to think.
There’s a ton of people with their own ideas and "techniques" of natural horsemanship. And each and everyone of them has their own catch phrase " join up"- Monty Roberts, "natural horsemanship"- Pat Parrelli, " think equus" -Michael Peace, "Passive leadership"- Mark Rashid, "true unity" Tom Dorrance.. theres a long list of others..
pretty much all of them will use the same negative reinforcement techniques. Pressure / release. And a number of them adamantly call it something else. It is all based on the old theories of operant conditioning. ( put that in google read about it then compare it to the " natural horsemanship tech. of your choice and see what you find)
put natural horsemen in your browser and see what comes up. theres a ton of people out there willing to take your money to give you the magic key to "understanding horses" and what is really funny is they way they all got it. Not from reading books, but from being in the saddle and riding.. which you can do all by your self, while forging a bond with your horse and learning to communicate with each other.
Please save your cash, ignore the hype of this new fad and ride, ride, ride.
