    My aren’t you …
My aren’t you agressive. You seem to confuse bad riding with traditonal riding. I see examples of ‘natural’ horsemen doing exactly what you are saying or are you saying anyone that uses a bit is not a ‘natural’ horseman. Where do you get the idea that traditional riding is about ’shoving bits’ & ‘gashing sticks ‘into horses? I have seen ‘natural horsemanship advice on how to use spurs to get the horse to move sideways – I expect now you will disown them as not being ‘real’ natural horsemen!

    oh gee, idon’t know …
oh gee, idon’t know. maybe because you don’t shove a piece of medal in their mouth and gash sticks into their sides.

    I think the point …
I think the point you are missing is that people are not saying that the ‘traditional’ side of this video is not extreme – they are saying that is it not representative; the examples have been selected to make a point; there is an element of bias. Do you understand that?
When you ride your horse tackless you still use a degree of force to control him/her. You are just using a different set of cues. How do you know he/she is enjoying it anymore than he/she would being ridden traditionally?

  4. lskfls Says:

    yes but a horse …
yes but a horse need to know that it is okay to do wrong… if a misunderstanding always will follow with pain from the bit and so on the horse will find riding very stressfull, because she or he will never now when pain will occur, and therefore that horse will be even harder to ride!

    But the thing that …
But the thing that none of u get is that with natural horsemanship, it NOT the extreme side of it. I got a new horse & could ride him tackless within 2 weeks of working on it. Really, how extreme is the conventional side of this video? Nearly all “pro” horses, dressage n jumping, r foaming at the mouth, running round & showing signs of clearly bein unhappy with what they r doing. How can u not notice this and want to do something about? It is something that I will never be able to understand.

    I think the point …
I think the point of this is to show that a relationship can be formed were the horses wouldn’t “take advantage”. Its obviously isnt a case of getting on one day with no tack, i just think the idea of a video is to show that there is a way where control is not needed as the horse is willing

    THIS IS THE BEST …
THIS IS THE BEST VIDEO ON YOUTUBE ;)
BUT IM A NATURAL HORSE MANSHIP,I HAVE TWO NONIUS MARE AND I RIDE THEY BRIDLELESS AND SADDLELESS ,13 YEARS AGO :)

    Thanks the true.

    I don’t think this …
I don’t think this is about tack vs. tack guys – it’s about respectful relationships built on mutual trust…spending quality time with a horse, and being a good leader – not “makng” them do want you want. The “win at all costs” people probably won’t get it, but I can tell you that if you open your mind and heart to people like John Lyons, Pat Parelli, Bill Dorrance, et al, you may be AMAZED at the transformation in your own horse! It’s sure working for me!!!

  9. TheMoyse Says:

    The no tack …
The no tack arguement is interesting – are there any examples of people hacking out in traffic using no tack? I mean who at one stage of another hasn’t ridden their horse across a field using just a headcollar?

  10. badtothebone90990909 Says:

    Ofcourse its good …
Ofcourse its good for both the horse and the rider to trust eachother but it isn’t that bad like in those pics you showed. I mean sometimes when a missunderstanding happens it can look bad but a horse and rider can work together with OR without tack!

  11. showjmpr22 Says:

    yes natural …
yes natural horsemanship is good but the thing i hate about the people who do it is they always go on and on about how tack is bad and they take pics and twist it around!! dude i use bridles & saddles, and my horses trust me so much and i trust them. we have our bad moments like in those pics, but im sure you do, how long would it take to make a horse get used to nothing, they have a mind of their own and even though they might like the “no tack” better they could easily take advantage of it.

  12. TheMoyse Says:

    I went to see a …
I went to see a natural horsemanship demonstration and to be honest it was not a million miles away from what I have experienced as traditional horsemanship.
I think that people can misuse any
’system’ of training even natural horsemanship.

I´m from Brasil and I loved this video.
I have worked with horses all my life and ever think like this video.
I ever respect the horses and this is the true…all people should do the same…

  14. Sill1989 Says:

    I think this movie …
I think this movie is the extreme part of everything. I do ride my horse in jumping, but with respect of both sides. I’ve got my horse for over 5 years now, since he was 2.. He’s doing great and he’s happy. You just have to know, how to ride those horses.

Mate, it’s a good movie – but you toke the extreme pictures of the horses, be realistic.

dit is alleen het slechte maar er is ook nog het goede en dat laat je neit zien
dat je bitloos rijd wil niet zegen dat het goed is die hoofdstellen geven heel veel druk op de neus is dat fijn nee……
