To all those who don’t understand where the term NH comes from: It’s natural because it is based off of horse psychology rather than people psychology. It’s not about adam and eve and horse in the wild.

It seems like you’re the one upset over something I never even said. In fact I ACTUALLY said she did a good job w/ her horse. I’m glad people use “NH” but sometimes everything done isn’t literally natural. I really have nothing else to say to you b/c you keep putting words in my mouth.

First, I’m not upset. I’m just telling you my opinion. I did mention the whip…along w/ a stick, was my point. The purpose of my comments was NEVER to say it’s bad to use whips or that NH is wrong or bad. It was simply to state using a device isn’t purely natural when a human and horse do communicate. THAT”S ALL. I support using a whip or whatever as a guiding tool. The reason for my last comment was b/c after reading it people always think I’m saying whips r bad & I’m NOT.

Accually, it was you who first brought up the word whip in the end of the post I anserwed in, and I dont get what you are so upset about. Nothign we do with a horse is pure natural, so if the girl wants to use a whip, let her. I dont use a whip, I dont need to.
NH is not only about be natural, its also about lerning a horse to not be scared of our gear, for example a whip.
She ise the whip as an extantion of her body, let her!

Every horse I’ve seen and raised has never viewed me as a predator because they are domesticated just like any other pet. (Take a dog “predator” that’s never seen you before, they’ll be scared too at first) Obviously wild horses will be scared of you, but no pet horse should unless you’ve given it reason to.
And if you think a long stick and rope looks like a hand, anyone would tell you that’s just retarded. You need to open your mind a little and stop believing everything you hear.

its called a carrot …
its called a carrot stick..and it’s not a whip..it’s used as an extension on the arm..because the horse body is obviously longer then the human body can reach unless you have some rubberband arms..and horses are naturally prey animals unlike dogs which are predators by nature. you cannot even compare a horse and dog, because they are too very different animals. too often horses are viewed as ‘big dogs’ when reality they are not like that at alll.
