a lot dressage horses turn out to be equitation horses, i don’t know why people think dressage horses can’t jump. xD every four legged animal is capable of jumping. beautiful job by the way :]

And i personally dont find dressage that exciting compared to jumping, it doesnt mean i dont understand it, it just means i have different interests to those who do. We’re all different in what is fun for us.

I believe every …
I believe every discpline within horse riding, or within any sport for that matter, has a never ending depth of skills to be learnt, depending on your committment to it.

And therefore, no discipline should be belittled, or put down as just “sitting on a horse and steering it round some jumps”

(”YowArePoof1″, i dont mean to be attacking you personally by quoting you, but it just helps show the point im trying to get across

I just want to add …
I just want to add my opinion to this, cause it seems like a healthy discussion rather than just which usually happens on here!

I am an eventer, and I would not give up the thrill i get from xc for anything, but I completely agree that dressage is the basis to all training, and a big part of eventing.

HOWEVER.. just in response to a few comments which are basically saying that jumping is easy and doesnt take ‘brain’, you must not know about eventing!

I know this is an …
I know this is an old video and I’m getting to it late, but I totally agree with you. My horse was a dressage horse before I got him and he jumps now just fine. Matter of fact we were going toward a jump and he went into dressage mode and I couldn’t get him out of it! He’s so great at both though, and dressage is not boring! it’s such a challenge and so important when you’re training!
