Holkham Horses- goody & dainty go to the beach! [black beauty]

September 17th, 2011

first no harsh crit on my editing skills & my riding ability please, i know how to ride but i also know i’ve got lots to learn.

a few weeks ago we went to holkham beach, norfolk, with the horses. we had an absolutely AMAZING time. to begin with the ponies wouldn’t go anywhere near the waves but eventually we were nearly swimming! :L they were a bit strong and i really had to hold goody back to stop him galloping off across the beach and flattening anyone ;D which is why he has his mouth open for some of the vid.

anyways, enjoy! :D

Judy Rodman “Girls Ride Horses Too” cover by Kelsey Klingensmith

September 8th, 2011

National Traditional Country Music Festival August 29, 2011. I learned this song in a day so I could sing it for a special friend of mine who’s going through some tough times. Sorry the audio isn’t the best it was in a very large open building so lots of echo:) Thank you Judy for sending me the chords so fast, so I could learn this song for my friend. You’re the best partner a girl could have. I’m a lucky girl!!!

on the longest night.

August 27th, 2011

*please read*
no audio owned.
i was just feeling a little down this evening when i decided to make this. samson and i had a pretty bad fall on sunday.
he is 100% fine, i got the worst of it.

all of these clips are brand spankin’ new! basically i can’t ride my horse but he’s amazing and puts up with me anyway. the clip of me going into the water jump is literally seconds before i came off, unfortunately not on film.

jumped him today even though my head is a bit weird, and he went amazingly amazing. he is such a star.

connor is in the blue and rode him aswell, samson jumped so well for him.
there’s lots i want to say, but this upload has gone too fast! curse you speedy internet!

sometimes everything can seem to pointless and so hard, but you just have to take the good with the bad, dust yourself off and start again. pick up the pieces and use as much sticky tape as possible to fix it. because this is all i can do. i’m not going to walk away, neither are you. i promise i will learn to ride you properly, some day, and get the best from you that other people can. i am sorry that i let you down so much, i make you look like a fool and hide all of your amazing talent. you deserve so much better but you’re stuck with me. it’s okay fat pony, i will someday become the rider you deserve.
words cannot describe the love i have for this horse.
love xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Before and After with Parelli – longer version

July 20th, 2011

I am from New Zealand and my horse is a 12 year old Swedish Warmblood Palomino called Garbo. I started to learn to ride 6 years ago now and when I got Garbo in Year 2 we started off well but I quickly became disillusioned with the standard training methods taught to me by instructors. The use of force and whips made my horse kick, rear and buck which in turn made me lose my confidence completely, I also thought there must be a kinder way and one that didn’t require me to wear gloves to stop me getting blisters on my hands!.

2 years ago I found Parelli and started studying via the Home Study Program and this shows some Before’s and Afters in our Parelli Life. We are now studying Level 3.

Krystal at work in the community with the Horse Rangers

July 8th, 2011

World Horse Welfare Krystal was rehomed by the voluntary youth organisation The Horse Rangers Association nine years ago where she continues to play an instrumental role at the Royal Mews where she is stabled.

During term time, the Krystal is included in the organisation’s associated Special Needs Section (RDA Group). She provides lessons for both adults and children from local special needs schools in the indoor arena.

Additionally, Krystal is used for able bodied children and young people who are members of the Association to enable them to become associated with, and interested in, horsemanship. They are aged between eight and 18 and study to gain badges under the observation of volunteer officers and instructors.

Many of these ‘Horse Rangers’ are from backgrounds where they wouldn’t be able to afford to own their own horse or pay for riding lessons. Therefore the organisation opens up the world of horsemanship to those who wouldn’t normally have the chance, and they are given a unique opportunity to learn to ride on horses such as Krystal while learning about topics including horse care and stable management.

Anyone any age can ride a horse.AVI

June 20th, 2011

We have had many people through our barn. Some come to learn to ride, others come to reacquaint themselves with riding. Age really doesn’t matter. We have had people through in their 80s and others as young as 3. The most rewarding are the special needs people we have helped. The glow in a child’s eye when they know they are in charge of this large animal is truly special. Seeing others with a new found freedom of mobility and strength really touches the heart, even of us old cowboys. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me anytime. This old cowboy is here to help. My e-mail address is SilenceSpeaksMore@sasktel.net. Thank you kindly

ed being very naughty

May 8th, 2011

wonderful ed ,ross’s little welsh mountain pony. he could be naughty sometimes when we took him off lead rein,. while he was bucking ross would say look nan im like a cowboy lol.. ross loved ed and would not part with him,. he started to outgrow ed and eventualy allow ed to go to a loving home sold as lead rein as that is what ed does best…. he was 100% as lead rein, and was going to be trained to PULLING A LITTLE CART. i did send ed off to a trainer, to be schooled for off lead rein….got his back checked out, no problems…. got saddler out….. no problems… got dentist out… no problems….. ed was a lead rein pony but ross did not want to stop riding ed but also did not want to be on lead rein anymore…. please remember i have hours and hours of film of ross and ed together and ed being very good… this was 3 mins of clips taken over a year from when he came off lead rein…. the film was not made for entertainment, it was put together to show trainer he could be naughty, as he was good most of the time, and lead rein 100%, ed was not perfect some of the time when off lead rein, and niether was ross, but they had a bond i have never seen before
ross had been on lead rein with ed for some time, and they had bonded so much on the ground, and ross just had dreams of riding ed up the mountain…. he spend most of his time brushing ed and telling him stories, and when ross was riding ed you could hear ross singing to him…. alot of kids dont have that bond anymore, the push button ponies have got only one job to do, and that is go in the show ring and beat all others, and if they dont god help them, have a tatrum and demand a new pony cos it didnt win anything. ross is not like that… he loved ed for the friendship they had together. and that meant taking him with his faults too….. perfect ponies for perfect riders eh…. well ross is not perfect either…
ross had fun with ed and thats what its all about, ??. ross loved ed with his faults too. ross thought he was perfect.. may i also add that i dont want ross to be a fantastic rider he was the one who wanted to ride, i just wanted him to have fun, and believe me he does, he has riding lessons on pip beause pip listens to him….. ed did teach him a lot…. the other day he was out riding ( i was following) and he went past a gate, a large dog jumped up barking, even though pip is 100% it made him jump and spook to the left, anyone else would have been off on the other side, but ross had full control and stayed calm……. ed taught ross that they are animals with minds of there own and to expect the unexpected, and ross did and is always prepared for anything…. i have seen kids put on bomb proof ponies (i dont believe they exsist) and not even have a hat on, only for the parents say “o its ok the pony wont do anything, and then walk around, a plastic bag flies up, horse spooks and kid comes off with not even a hat on…. guess you can guess out come… child is hurt…ross always wore top range safety hat, body armour, safety stiruups,( did have to get wider pair) and he had a soft landing on soft laid arena… please remember that this is a 6yr old little boy who wanted to learn to ride on his pony. i understand some may not like his riding, but he is a kid, yes his hands and legs are all over the place, he will learn one day when he wants to. this is the best thing about video, you can sit back years later and laugh about it. ross or ed was never hurt. ross has a bigger pony named pip, pip is as good as gold and 150%, but even pip can have an odd moment once a year.

Raindrop – Flashy Pinto Hunter Pony for Sale/Lease SOLD

April 29th, 2011

A video of Raindrop and I jumping this summer. (8/18/08)

7 yr old large flashy black tobiano pony, experienced in hunter/jumper, also rides western undersaddle. His smooth gaits and consistent courses make him shine in the hunter ring. His gaits are very comfortable for someone to learn to ride on. Easy going, intelligent, well broke on the flat and over jumps. Barefoot and sound. Very honest, has jumped 2’6″ courses and 3’3″ single spreads, but could easily do more. Auto lead changes. Excellent at shows and has never once had a health problem. Great for an intermediate child or small adult. Must sell/lease ASAP because owner is going to university.
